Abstract

An insulating refractory is obtained by casting a foamed suspension of, in weight per cent, fused alumina 60-75; calcined alumina 10-20; refractory clay 3 to 7; pyrophyllite 10-15; phosphoric acid and a foaming agent, e.g. a fatty acid-ethylene oxide condensate. P.V.A. is used as a stabilizer.
