Abstract

1,080,712. Mounting and supporting baths. PLASTICS (MANCHESTER) Ltd. July 4 1966 [July 2, 1965], No. 28123/65. Heading A4N. An apparatus for installing a bath comprises, a base (10) which has four wooden blocks (11) forming first locking means glued to its upper surface and a pair of U-shaped wooden cradles (12) fixed, or adapted to be fixed to a bath. Each block has a slot (14) in which is held a square nut (14A) having a central bore (14B) into which a bolt (15) is screwed. The bolt has a normal head (17) and also a nut levelling (18) screwed on the bolt and a locking nut (18A) which serves to lock the bolt to the cradle. The base of each cradle has grooves (19) in the undersurface to receive the bolt heads. A pair of flat metal angle plates (20) are screwed to the undersurface of the cradle so that opposing faces of the angle plates form a channel (21) for the bolt. The upper ends of the cradles are provided with slots (12A) located by wooden striplike projections (12B) said strips being attached to wooden rails (12C) which are bonded to the underside of the ledges of the bath. The bath may be provided with a seating board (13C). In another embodiment a pair of wooden guideways are attached to the base and the bolts are attached to the cradle. The supporting means may also be formed integrally with the bath.
