Abstract

1,080,702. Washing paint-laden air. H. SCHAFER. Aug. 11, 1964 [March 25, 1964], No. 32758/64. Heading B1R. A device for washing paint-laden air drawn through the flow 29 of a paint-spray booth comprises water-containing troughs 1-5, troughs 2 and 4 having covers 12 spaced apart as shown and supplied with water which overflows into troughs 1, 3 and 5, troughs 2 and 4 extending beyond a wall of the paint-spray booth and allowing withdrawn air to be further washed before being discharged to atmosphere. Covers 12 and the troughs form together with the further washing devices a water circulating system and troughs 1, 3 and 5 are provided with baffles to remove paint from the circulating water. Troughs 2 and 4 are supplied with water from the further washing devices and a pump operated by a level control automatically controls the level of water therein.
