Abstract

1,079,398. Terminals. ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS Inc. Dec. 31, 1965, No. 55426/65. Heading H2E. In a terminal the shank of a clamping belt 12 has a smooth upper portion 16 on which are mounted a curved clamping plate 26, a U-shaped clip 20 and preferably a lock washer 18. To secure two wires to a plate 30 the bolt may be screwed into an aperture 32 in the plate, the wires being guided by the clip 20 and gripped beneath the clamping plate 26, which has an elongated aperture (Fig. 2, not shown) to allow it to pivot so as to accommodate two wires of different diameters. The clamping plate may also have ridges 28 which pierce the insulation of a cable.
