1,078,727. Preparing fibres for spinning. ELITEX SDRUZENI PODNIKU TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI. Nov. 18, 1964, No. 46892/64. Heading D1N. A device for orienting fibres prior to their transfer to a spindleless spinning machanism includes a feed roller, an associated resilientlymounted trough, and a wedge interposed between the trough and a pinned cylinder. The trough 4 is passed towards the feed roller 3 by a spring 6 encircling a guide pin 13 surmounted by a handle 14 for raising the trough when a fresh web of fibres is to be introduced. The roller 3 preferably rotates in a stationary trough 12 lined with felt or other material serving to clean the roller of fibres. The optimum width of passage for the web 9 as it is fed to the pinned cylinder 10 is determined by the positioning of the wedge 8.
