[Also in Division G2] A support structure for medical apparatus, for example for investigations by opthalmologists and opticians, comprises a C-shaped base having an upright middle part 2 and transverse top and bottom parts 3 and 1, respectively. A lower column section 7 is mounted between the top and bottom parts; an upper column section 10 is mounted on top of the base, out of alignment with the lower column section and over the middle part of the base. On the column sections, which preferably have the same cross-section, a plurality of pivoted support arms 8 and 19 may be mounted at their inner ends; at least one of the support arms, which may be adjustable for height, may carry a further pivoted arm 9 at its outer end. The upper end of the upper column section may carry a lamp 11; the ends of the various arms may carry extension members 91 and/or apparatuses 12 and 13. Optical apparatus, for example a projector 14, and control elements may be installed on the top part of the base; on the upright part of the base may be mounted a desk 15 supporting a hand apparatus 16 having a service connection tensioned at 17 so as to disappear within the base when the apparatus is returned to the desk. The base may have a door 18 rendering an electrical installation therein readily accessible. As shown in the Figure, a chair 4 with armrests 6 is adjacent the support structure.
