Abstract
1,072,012. Steam turbine plant. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. July 5, 1965 [July 6, 1964], No. 27779/64. Addition to 1, 007, 306. Heading F1T. The invention relates to a multi-stage steam turbine plant in which steam is reheated between turbine stages by means of steam bled from the turbine. The plant shown comprises a high pressure turbine stage 11, an intermediate pressure turbine stage 12 and a low pressure turbine stage 13, steam from a steam generator being supplied to the high pressure turbine 11 through line 14, and the steam from the high pressure turbine passing to the intermediate pressure turbine through line 15, additional live steam from the steam generator being supplied to the line 15 through line 16. The pressure of the live steam in line 16 is of course less than that of the live steam in line 14. Steam from the outlet of the intermediate pressure turbine passes through line 17 to the inter-stage reheater 18A, the reheated steam passing through line 19 to the inlet of the low pressure turbine 13. The steam is reheated in the reheater by means of steam bled from the H. P. and I. P. turbines at points 43, 44, 45, the steam from these points passing through lines 40, 41, 42 to heating coils 46, 47, 48, all respectively, in the reheater. Steam discharges from the coil 46 to a flashbox 49 the steam from which passes to the line 41 and thence through the coil 47. Similarly, steam discharges from the coil 47 to a flashbox 50, the steam from which passes to the line 42 and thence through the coil 48. Steam discharging from the coil 48 passes to a feed water heater 25 which contains a coil 26 through which feed water flows from inlet 28A to outlet 26B and so back to the steam generator. Water from the flashboxes 49, 50 passes to the feed water heater 25, the water from the heater passing through line 27 to the condenser.
