Abstract

1,071,236. Boots &c. E. BRœTTING. March 21, 1966 [April 21, 1965], No. 12385/66. Heading A3B. A sports shoe, e.g. an indoor track shoe, has a sole 1 of plastics material e.g. nylon, having spikes 2 embedded therein and a rough coating 4 e.g. of crepe rubber on the lower side of the sole 1, the thickness of the coating 4 being such that the tips of the spikes 2 still project from the coating 4. The shoe has four spikes, each having a base plate 3, which are embedded in the sole when it is moulded the four spikes being arranged so that each pair of spikes is disposed on a line extending parallel to a line extending transversely through the ball of the foot.
