Abstract

1,071,161. Stud and socket fasteners. RADIATION Ltd. Dec. 2, 1963 [Oct. 9, 1962], No. 38246/62. Heading E2B. [Also in Divisions Gl and H2] An arrangement for attaching a device to a panel 4 comprises a plate 1 having a circular aperture 2 with two diametrically placed recesses 3 which is attached to the panel 4 but slightly spaced therefrom. The device itself (9) has two outwardly-projecting tabs (10) so that as the device is presented to the panel 4 the tabs pass through the recesses 3 and, in the manner of a bayonet fitting the device may then be rotated slightly to bring the tabs under the plate 1. The plate 1 may either be welded to the panel 4 or it may be secured by two screws 5 engaging in threaded inserts 7 in rubber sleeves 6. The sleeves have heads 8, to ensure the correct spacing of the plate 1 from the panel 4, and, by this compression as the screws are tightened serve to seal the aperture in the panel 4 through which they are passed.
