Abstract

1,068,488. Stoppers; pouring spouts. A. R. RAUSING. Dec. 9, 1965 [Dec. 28, 1964 ; March 20, 1965], No. 52354/6.5. Headings B8D and B8T. A closure for a bottle having an opening with an inwardly turned lip 6 comprises a lid 3 and a tubular plug 5 having a flange 8 which engages the lip, tongues 24, 25 being provided to seal against the inner surface 20 of the lip. A collar 21 assists in correctly orienting the sealing tongues on applying the closure which is made of plastics. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), a single sealing ring (30) of triangular cross-section is used. Further features of the closure are identical to those described in Specification 1,044,938.
