Abstract
1,064,008. Stacker cranes. INSTITUT FUR FORDERTECHNIK LEIPZIG. March 31, 1965, No. 13666/65. Heading B8H. In a stacker crane in which a fork 6 is movable on a guide column 2 suspended from a crab 3 by means of a cable 4 and hoist mechanism 1, the column 2 is adapted to be secured to the crab in either of two alternative positions in which the cable 4 is spaced a distance a from the crab centre towards the load, Fig. 1, or away from the load, Fig. 2 (not shown). The hoist mechanism 1 may be secured to the crab in which case the cable 4 is guided around pulleys (8), Fig. 3 (not shown), which are adjustable with respect to the centre of the crab, the column being bolted in either of the alternative positions. In a modification. Figs. 4, 5 (not shown), the hoist mechanism is mounted on a turntable and in a further modification, Figs. 6-9 (not shown), the column (2) is rotatably mounted in the turntable. The column 2 may be telescopic and may be provided with guide rails for an operator's cabin.
