Abstract

1,061,264. Automatic circuit-breakers; twopart couplings; plug boards. HEINEMANN ELECTRIC CO. April 14, 1964 [April 29, 1963], No. 15418/64. Headings H2B and H2E. In a circuit breaker of the kind having a toggle linkage extending between an operating lever and a moving contact member, the linkage including a U-shaped latch which may be released by an overload-responsive electromagnet, a trip rod may be moved against spring bias to release the latch. In one arrangement the circuit-breaker may be mounted on a panel provided with means to operate the trip rod to release the circuit-breaker when an interconnecting jack-plug is inserted in or removed from the panel. Alternatively the circuitbreaker may be arranged for remote release, a solenoid mounted on the side of the circuitbreaker operating the trip rod.
