Abstract

Compounds of the formula <FORM:1058258/C2/1> and their acid addition salts, where R is H, halogen or C1- 5 alkyl and R1 and R11 represent H or C1- 5 alkyl, are prepared by reacting an appropriate 2-aminopyridine with a haloaldehyde or haloketone. 1 - (21,21 - Dimethoxyethyl) - 2 - imino - 4 - methyl-pyridine is prepared as an intermediate. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise the compounds of the invention and a carrier. The compositions show hypertensive activity and may be administered either orally or parenterally.
