Abstract

1,056,692. Shaft sinking shovel excavator assemblies. MOWLEM (CIVIL ENGINEERING) Ltd. Dec. 10, 1964 [Feb. 6, 1964], No. 5112/64. Heading E1F. Excavating the bottom of a lined shaft is done by a shovel assembly comprising a shovel pivotally mounted at the outer end of a boom of two pivoted parts, the boom being swingably supported about horizontal and vertical axes on a frame that can be secured to the lining of the shaft. Movements of the shovel and boom are due to hydraulic rams suitably positioned on the assembly.
