Abstract

1,045,585. Cards. AUTOGRAPHIC BUSINESS FORMS Inc. May 27, 1963 [June 8, 1962], No. 21133/63. Heading B6A. [Also in Division G2] An identification card comprises a layer which is printed with details which identify the issuer of the card and a second layer which contains details which identify the person to whom the card is issued; the second layer being a photo-hardenable layer which was exposed to the details and developed to leave those details in relief. The printed card may be coated with the photo-hardenable layer before exposure or the photo-hardenable layer may be exposed and developed before it is attached to the printed card. Preferably, the personal details include a signature and rib members around these details to prevent the background areas from printing. Certain of the photographically produced details may be mounted on the printed card so that they are removable (e.g. expiry date which may be mounted, using pressure adhesives).
