Abstract

1,044,217. Mounting edge connectors. UNITED-CARR Inc. July 5, 1963 [Sept. 20, 1962], No. 26806/63. Heading H2E. [Also in Division E2] An electrical plug assembly 10 comprising an insulating body 12 having a central slot 14 and a plurality of electrical contact openings 16, is mounted upon a chassis 54, Fig. 5 (not shown) by means of clips 20. Each clip comprises resilient legs 38, 40 connected to a curved base portion 30, which can be flattened by pressure applied thereto axially of the legs. A clip is positioned in a recess 18 at each end of the body 12 and a contact element 24 is adapted to be positioned within each of the openings 16. A flange 26 at each end of the body is adapted to contact the upper surface of the chassis when the assembled plug and clip are inserted through a hole 53 in the chassis, the assembly being retained by the engagement of spurs 46, 50 on the clip with the underside of the chassis.
