Abstract

1,043,355. Extruding. FIELDING & PLATT Ltd., and H. J. ELY. Jan. 6, 1964 [Nov. 14, 1962], No. 43111/62. Heading B3P. An extrusion punch and mandrel assembly comprises a nose portion 7 holding the mandrel 8 and secured to a punch body 1 by a bolt 2. The latter has a threaded head 5 clamped tightly against a ring 6 by a nut 3 bearing against disc springs 4. Nose portion 7 has a threaded bore which is screwed on the bolt head after insertion of the mandrel. Tapered surfaces 10, 11, 12 may be provided as described in Specification No. 914,200 or the end of the punch nose may be flat.
