Abstract

1,043,014. Magnetic switches. DARENTH WEIGHING EQUIPMENT Ltd. July 13, 1965 [Aug. 10, 1964], No. 32471/64. Heading H2B. [Also in Division G1] A weighing machine comprises an indicating and control device in which a pointer 5 provided with a magnetic reed contact device 12 sweeps in accordance with the weight of material in a weighing hopper of the machine over a scale 2 provided with one or more movable magnets, the reed contact device being connected into an electrical circuit which is actuated by the closure of the reed contact device caused by any one of the magnets. The reed contact device is mounted in an aperture of the pointer 5 which is arranged on a rotatable two-part spindle 6 supported in bearings 7 and 8 (Fig. 2, not shown). Each of the movable magnets comprises two magnetic portions joined by a plate 23 having an opening 24 fitted with a glass panel 25 inscribed with an index line 26, one magnetic portion 22 being arranged to actuate the reed contact device and the other magnetic portion 27 being provided to position the magnet on the ferromagnetic casing of the machine.
