Abstract

The ankle support consists of a flexible strip of material which is very slightly extensible. The said strip defines: - firstly, an anterior loop 1 which is closed and which comprises an upper strand 1a and a lower strand 1b between which the anterior part of a foot can be tightly inserted; - secondly, a posterior loop 2 which is closed and which comprises an upper strand 2a and a lower strand 2b between which the heel T of the foot can be tightly inserted; - thirdly, between the said loops a joining part 3 of a length which is necessary and sufficient to go right around the ankle, after insertion of the anterior part of the foot in the anterior loop 1 and before insertion of the heel T in the posterior loop 2.
