Abstract

Packaging for pharmaceutical tablets, eps. veterinary pellets to be dispensed one at a time from the package, e.g. hormone pellet for insertion under the skin of a cow. The pellets are held in a cylindrical tube of flexible plastic, e.g. PVC. The tube is open-ended, but, at each end, the interior of the tube wall is distorted to form an elastic retaining lip which prevents accidental discharge of a pellet. However, a pellet can be ejected by springing it past the lip using a piston type rod to push the pellets from the other end of the tube. The lip is pref. formed by stabbing a hole in the tube wall. This is done from the exterior by a radially advancing punching tool.
