Abstract

For reproducing signals recorded on an image recording disc in a spiral groove, there is a pick-up pin (15) at the end of a supporting arm (19), the mass of which is less than that required for the desired track-keeping force. The track-keeping force is generated by a leaf spring (33), tensioned between the pick-up pin (15) and a rest (14) of the reproducing apparatus. This has the effect that the pick-up pin returns quickly to the disc groove when it has been thrown out from the said groove by an undesired force on it. The spring also has the effect that the free end of the pick-up arm, held in a compliant part (21) of the apparatus, is always held in the correct position in relation to the rest, and can furthermore serve the purpose of establishing an electrical connection with a signal-processing circuit of the disc player.
