Improvements in videodisc reproduction systems, of the type carrying pre-recorded signals for a spiral groove disc rotatably mounted on a plate by a needle sliding on the groove fixed to one end of a needle arm; and including a base plate, characterized in that a carriage is mounted for lateral movement relative to said base plate with respect to the lateral movement of the needle that slides in the groove; means for supporting the end of the needle arm remote from the first end within said support; a spring for pushing the needle into the groove of the disc during reproduction; the spring having a first and a second end; the first end being fixed to the needle; and means for fixing the second end of the spring on the interior of the support for movement therewith.
