Abstract

The blank cartridge has a cartridge proper filled with propellant powder and joined to a projectile which disintegrates on firing, thus allowing practice firing in bursts to take place. The cartridge proper has an extended neck inside which the body of the projectile is at least partly accommodated. The neck can be crimped onto the projectile, which fits inside it for roughly half its height. The base of the projectile can be formed by a plug with a hole passing through it. The plug can be cup-shaped housed inside the body of the projectile.
