Abstract

The hinge is for use on the door of a domestic oven in partic. a door which pivots about its bottom edge. The hinge has a translating and pivoting lever (11) which hooks (211) on to a frame-mounted roller (12) to hold the door (2) open. When the door is open a notched (16) head of the lever can be locked onto the door by a rotatable cammed wheel (14). With the lever locked the door can be removed from the oven by lifting and to facilitate interior cleaning. When locked the lever (11) is held in a fixed angular relationship with the door by a compressed coil spring.
