Abstract

The transportable machine for splitting logs has a monobloc swan necked structure with sides (1, 2) and a base formed of several plates (3). At the top, there are transverse stays (4, 5) and further supports. An upper plate (9) carries a ram (10) with its rod (11) pointing down towards a dihedron (12) consisting of a wave shaped transverse (13). The rod (11) has at its end a wedge stop (14) and the lower part of the machine houses a hydraulic fluid tank, pump etc. The ram is double acting and such that whilst it slides up and down exactly, it can at no time rotate.
