Abstract

The paravane is towed by a cable (23) which is shacked onto the paravan by the bracket (25). The paravane has a keel (7) with a weight at the leading edge and a tail fin (11). There is an electric motor (15) mounted below the paravane which drives hydrovane (5) through the yoke (19) and the cables (17) and (18). The towing cable provides also a co-axial signal cable to convey the signals from the tug to the hydrofoil drive motor and for the recording signals.
