Abstract
1. An underwater vessel, more particularly a submarine having at least one flank array sonar disposed on the vessel's hull and extending in the lateral direction of the vessel to receive acoustic signals, characterized in that the flank array sonar (12 112 212 312) is formed by a known hydrophone streamer (13 113 213 313) which is retained over its longitudinal extension at a distance from the vessel's hull (10 110 210 310) by spaced-out retaining members (27 133, 134 233 333) attached to the vessel's hull (10 110 210 310).
