Abstract

Cotton or cellulose pulps for use in paper mfr. is produced by the dry disintegration of the cellulose and simultaneous treatment with a stream of air, before distribution and disintegration in water. The process gives papers of different and improved quality, since there is no water absorption or swelling of the fibres. The paper produced has a high bulk and reduced density and a high porosity with comparatively short fibre length.
