Abstract

The marine drive is for inboard motor installations with a connected outboard propeller and rudder, mounted on an assembly which is connected as a unit to the stern of the boat. By hinging the assembly at one point it is possible to retract the propeller in shallow water. The assembly also includes a fin (20) to protect the rudder. This fin protrudes below the keek, so that the boat is still afloat when the fin grounds. The rudder is also in the assembly, together with a lifting handle (11). The drive between the engine and propeller is taken through a dog clutch which allows the propeller shaft to become horizontal. In this position the drive is of course dis-engaged.
