Abstract

Offset printing blanket is prepd. by depositing on a support of paper, fibres, woven, non-woven, or knitted fabric, an elastic intermediate layer which is a pre-polymerised or non-pre-polymerised compsn. (opt. in soln) based on (meth)acrylic monomers, opt. in presence of bases (ammonia (un)satd. amines, urea or other amides, or nitrides), and a diacid, such as maleic acid or anhydride. This blanket transmits the printing ink more accurately, due to its properties of horizontal rigidity and compressibility.
