Abstract

Fluid is pressed through a diaphragm under high pressure produced by centrifugal force. On the other side of the diaphragm is a lower pressure. The diaphragm completely separates two parts of the rotor chamber; one part has a fluid inlet near the rotation axis and a fluid outlet spaced from the axis. The part with the fluid inlet is arranged so that it can feed fluid to radially inner side of the diaphragm. The distance of the diaphragm from the rotation axis increases towards the fluid outlet from the latter part of the rotor chamber.
