Abstract

A book pack, the blank of which prior to packing comprises a rectangular cardboard sheet, the long edges of which have been folded and glued double to form support strengthenings 2. In both long edges of the cardboard sheet there are two pairs of transverse folds 3, which extend from the outer edge of the cardboard sheet towards the inner edge 12 of the support strengthenings 2. The distance between the foot ends of the folds in each pair essentially corresponds to the thickness of the book to be packed, triangular regions 4 being left between the folds 3, which triangular regions have been folded inwards as support for the end corners of the book to be packed. Those regions 7 of the support strengthenings which are situated between the draw-in folds 3,4,9, have been bent and fastened by their free outer edges one against the other, whereby a triangular protective cam is formed which, at least in the region of the corners, comprises four cardboard layers one on top of the other. <IMAGE>
