Abstract

1289970 Stacking trays ASHTON CONTAINERS Ltd 7 Jan 1970 [7 Feb 1969] 6696/69 Heading B8P A tray formed from a blank of corrugated or solid fibreboard or of plastics material comprises a base 10, sides 11, 12, 14, 15 and tubular corner posts 13 formed from extensions of the sides 11, 12 and secured to both their adjacent sides. The blank is vented by stapling the portions 23 of the corner posts 13 to the sides 14, 15, at which stage the tray may be collapsed into a flat condition by folding the sides 11, 12 outwardly along fold lines 22. The portions 25 of the corner posts 13 are then folded to lie against the side walls 11, 12 and the portions 16 of the sides 11, 12 folded over to enclose tube 29 on portions 25, the tabs 30 and 19 on portions 16 slotting into slots 28 in portions 24 of the corner posts and slots 2p in the base respectively. To facilitate stacking, the outer corners of posts 13 may be inclined slightly outwardly.
