Abstract

The invention relates to a feeding apparatus for powdery material for feeding the material from a heap of material into a conveyor. The apparatus comprises a vertical cylindrical pressure feeder (1) and means (2) for transferring material from below the pressure feeder into its interior, so that the apparatus sinks into the heap. The transfer means (2) need not be used when the apparatus is positioned within the heap if an inlet (5) for the powdery material provided in the pressure feeder opens upwards since the material is thereby able to flow into the pressure feeder (1) under the influence of the force of gravity.
