Abstract

The invention relates to an apparatus for feeding powdery material e.g. in the hold of a ship into a conveyor which transports the material ashore. The apparatus comprises a pressure feeder (1) in connection with which means (2, 5, 12) are provided to enable the apparatus to dig itself into a heap of material. The digging means are formed by scoops (9) which transfer material from below the pressure feeder into its inlet (5), and by a disc valve (12) provided in the upwardly opening inlet.
