Abstract
3-Aryluracil derivs. of formula (I) and their salts where R1 and/or R2 = H are new: R1 = H; 1-4C alkyl; 2-4C alkenyl or alkynyl; 2-6C alkoxyalkyl, alkanoyl or alkoxycarbonyl or formyl; R2 = H; 1-6C alkyl; 2-4C alkenyl or alkynyl; or 2-6C alkoxyalkyl; R3 = halo or NO2; R4 = H or halo; R5 = H, halo, 1-4C alkyl, ClCH2, BrCH2, HOCH2, 1-5C (alkoxy or alkylthio) methyl, CN, NO2 or thiocyanato; R6 = H or 1-4C alkyl (opt. substd. by F); or R5 and R6 are together tri- or tetra-methylene in which CH2 can be replaced by O or S, and the ring can be substd. by 1-3C alkyl; X = O or S; (1) if R5=F, R6 cannot be H; (2) if R5=CN, R6 must be H or 1-4C alkyl and X=S. Also new are the intermediates of formula (I): R2' = R2 other than H; R'5 = H, F or 1-4C alkyl, or with R6 completes a ring; R7 = 1-4C alkyl.
