PROCEDIMIENTO DE PREPARACION DE 4 (O 3)-(3,4-DIHIDROXIFENIL) PIRIDINA. SE BASA EN LA REACCION, A TEMPERATURA DE 100-120 C, DE 4 (O 3)-(3,4-DIMETOXIFENIL) PIRIDINA, CON UN AGENTE DESMETILANTE, TAL COMO BROMURO DE HIDROGENO ACUOSO, YODURO DE HIDROGENO, CLORHIDRATO DE PIRIDINA, U OTROS. SE DEJA REPOSAR LA MEZCLA UNOS DIAS. SE LAVA CON ETANOL EL PRECIPITADO RESULTANTE, SE SECA EN UN HORNO A 80-95 C, Y SE RECOGE EL PRODUCTO FINAL EN FORMA DE SAL. SE OBTIENE EN FORMA DE BASE LIBRE, POR REACCION DE UNA SOLUCION ACUOSA DE LA SAL, CON UN EXCESO DE SOLUCION DE BICARBONATO SODICO, Y POSTERIOR FILTRACION. SE USAN COMO AGENTES CARDIOTONICOS.PROCEDURE FOR THE PREPARATION OF 4 (O 3) - (3,4-DIHYDROXYPHENIL) PYRIDINE. IT IS BASED ON THE REACTION, AT A TEMPERATURE OF 100-120 C, OF 4 (O 3) - (3,4-DIMETOXIFENIL) PYRIDINE, WITH A DEMETILATING AGENT, SUCH AS AQUEOUS HYDROGEN BROMIDE, HYDROGEN IODIDE, PYRIDINE HYDROCHLORIDE, OR OTHERS. THE MIXTURE IS ALLOWED TO REST FOR A FEW DAYS. THE RESULTING PRECIPITATE IS WASHED WITH ETHANOL, DRIED IN AN OVEN AT 80-95 C, AND THE FINAL PRODUCT IS COLLECTED IN THE FORM OF SALT. IT IS OBTAINED IN A FREE BASE FORM, BY REACTION OF AN AQUEOUS SALT SOLUTION WITH AN EXCESS OF SODIUM BICARBONATE SOLUTION, AND SUBSEQUENT FILTRATION. THEY ARE USED AS CARDIOTONIC AGENTS.
