CINSISTE EN MEZCLAR UNA ESCORIA FINAMENTE DIVIDIDA CON UN CONTENIDO EN TIO2 MAYOR DE 80 POR 100 Y UN CONTENIDO EN TI(III) ENTRE 22-40 POR 100, Y UNA ILMENITA TAMBIEN FINAMENTE DIVIDIDA Y CON UNA PROPORCION ENTRE FE(III) Y FE(II) DE 1:1 HASTA 10:1, DE MANERA QUE LA PROPORCION MOLAR DE TI(III) Y FE(III) RESULTANTE SEA DE 25:1 A 1,4:1. PARA AJUSTAR LA PROPORCION DE 2H2SO4 Y TIO2 DE 1,7:1 A 2,2:1 SE AÑADE ACIDO SULFURICO EN UNA CONCENTRACION SUPERIOR A UN 86 POR 100, INICIANDOSE UNA REACCION DE DISGREGACION DE LA ILMENITA AL AÑADIRSE AGUA O ACIDO SULFURICO DILUIDO.
