Abstract
Un procedimiento para fabricar un cuerpo de aislamiento térmico de tobermorita, de elevada densidad, exento de amianto, caracterizado por poner en suspensión una mezcla que consta esencialmente, en partes en peso, de: 15 a 40 partes de cal, 20 a 50 partes de un componente silíceo, y 15 a 40 partes de wollastonita, no contenido dicha mezcla nada de fibra de amianto, en al menos una parte en peso de agua por parte en peso de sólidos secos en dicha mezcla; transformar por moldeo la suspensión en una pieza que mantiene su forma y que tiene una densidad de al menos 0,3 g/cm3, y fraguar después dicha pieza moldeada en una atmósfera de vapor de agua a presión elevada, durante un tiempo suficiente para hacer que los componentes de cal, de sílice y de agua formen una matriz de hidrato de silicato de calcio reforzada por dicha wollastonita.
