Abstract

The mechanism lifts a platform for overhead maintenance work and has an extensible boom with a section stationary in the axial direction and other telescoping and folding in relation to it. The telescopic sections are attached in succession in the axial direction using flexible couplings acting in opposite directions, and they are extensible and foldable in both, simultaneously and in relation to each other and to the stationary section. This is effected by a force exerted on one of the sections, typically by a hydraulic ram.
