Abstract

The connector, for connecting a flat cable to wire-wrap pins on a printed circuit board, consists of a rectangular insulating housing containing sockets at one end for the wire-wrap pins and split knife-edge contacts at the other end for the cable's conductors. The tool that pushes the cable's conductors into the split contacts consists of a bar with convex channels along it. Each channel corresponds to one contact and one conductor. The cable is laid over these channels and the tool pressed down into the end of the housing so tha the cable is bent into a U and the conductors forced into their respective split conacts.
