Abstract
Improvements made to the object of main patent no. 436,099 on a process for the preparation of cross-linked, elastic, open-cell, urethane-containing foam materials based on polyols containing active hydrogen atoms, especially polyether polyols, with equivalent hydroxy weights of 700 to 5000, polyisocyanates, water and catalysts as well as optionally organic and emulsifying or stabilizing expansion agents and optionally liquid crosslinking agents having at least three active hydrogen atoms and/or solids soluble in the polyols used, saturating or unsaturated polyhydroxy compounds being used as crosslinking agents, crystalline aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, heteroaliphatic or arylaliphatic, only slightly soluble or not soluble in the polyols to be foamed at room temperature, which polyhydroxy compounds have three or more hydroxy groups and melt in a temperature range of 60 to 160ºC, in amounts of 0.1 to 5 0 equivalent hydroxy weights for an equivalent weight of polyol hydroxy that passes to the foaming, characterized in that 0.5 to 50% by weight, based on the amount of water in the foaming charge, are added to the foaming charge, of decomposing compounds associated with water.
