Abstract
A process for manufacturing ductile iron castings comprising the following steps: a. form a molten cast iron bath, b. adding at least two nodularizing elements to the bath, each one in an amount between approximately 0.01% and 0.03% by weight based on the bath, the total amount of added nodularizing agents being sufficient to produce spheroidal graphite, c. pour the castings from said bath, and d. let these castings solidify.
