Abstract

An imaging procedure comprising the steps of (a) forming an electrostatic latent image on a respective fixing surface; (b) developing said latent image by carrying an electrostatgraphic developer mixture within the influence of said latent image, said developer mixture comprising particles, said particles including (1) finely divided electroscopic printing powder material, (2) a minimal proportion based on the weight of said printing powder of a fatty acid metal salt, and (3) a minimal proportion based on the weight of said printing powder material of a submicron size colloidal silica; (c) removing at least a portion of at least any residual developed image from said respective fixing surface by a force that causes the printing powder, metal salt and colloidal silica of said developer mixture to be rubbed through at least one portion of said image fixing surface; and (d) repeat the process sequence at least once more.
