Abstract

A separator device intended to be used in a vacuum cleaning system to separate dirt, dust, and the like from contaminated air drawn through the probe of a vacuum cleaner comprising, in combination, a reservoir intended to contain a mass of a cleaning liquid, a contaminated air inlet pipe that extends through a wall of said tank above the level of said liquid and vertically downwards in said tank, to a point below the level of said liquid, a second pipe that surrounds said inlet pipe and cooperates with it to define an annular space between them, the lower part of said inlet pipe and said second pipe opening into said liquid mass and the lower part of said second pipe extending below from the lower part of said inlet pipe, an air outlet in the wall of said tank, near its upper part and by above the top of said second pipe, and means for removing air through said outlet connection, whereby an intimate mixture of contaminated air and cleaning liquid circulates upward through said annular space, to cause said liquid removes pollutants from the air, and to make the liquid circulating from the upper part of said annular space fall into said mass of liquid.
