Abstract
Aqueous electrolyte cell element having an inverted-type electrode arrangement, characterized by the fact that it includes, first of all, a metal container, preferably cylindrical, closed by one of its bases, which performs the mission of cathode and external envelope of the battery element, said container being chemically inactive and electronically conductive; secondly, a depolarizing mass arranged inside the aforementioned container, in direct contact with the metallic surface of the latter, said depolarizing mass in the same medium having a potential lower than the metal potential of the aforementioned container; third, at least one negative electrode inserted inside the depolarizing mass and made up of a metal from groups I to IV of Mendeleev's classification; fourthly, a film permeable to ions that surround the aforementioned negative electrode and that forms a separator between the latter and the depolarizing mass; and fifthly, a cover that closes off the free base of the container and is mechanically attached to the negative electrode (s) mentioned, said cover carrying the negative terminal of the battery element.
