Abstract
Procedure for the preparation of new pyrido [3,2-d] pyrimidines of the general formula I **(See formula)** wherein R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, mean morpholino, thiomorpholino, 1-oxidothiomorpholino, 1,1-dioxidothiomorpholino or piperidino radicals, possibly substituted by a lower alcohol radical, piperazino radicals possibly substituted in position 4 by a carbamoyl acyl radical or lower alcohol, dialkanolanine or alcohol-diamine groups; and R3 signifies a hydrogen atom or the methyl group, as well as its physiologically compatible acid addition salts, characterized in that a compound of the general formula II is reacted **(See formula)** wherein R1 and R2 are as initially defined, with crotonic aldehyde, or acrolein or glycerin in the presence of an oxidizing agent and an acidic condensing agent; and if a compound of the general formula I is obtained, in which R1 and/or R2 represent free piperazine groups, these are acylated if desired, and/or a compound obtained of the general formula I is transformed, if desired, in its physiologically compatible salts with organic or inorganic acids.
