Abstract

A rotor 16 of an open end spinning device having an inner surface concentric with the axis of the rotor is provided with a fibre collecting circumferential groove free from needles or other projections in which the fibres are received. As shown the groove is formed at the junction of opposed frusto-conical surfaces by opposed surfaces including an angle of up to 35 . In a further form, Fig. 3, not shown, the base surface of the roter is at right angles to the axis of the roter and forms one surface of the groove. The straight walls of the groove may be joined at their lower end by a curved base.
