Abstract

A water-in-oil emulsion vaccine comprises a continuous oil phase, an aqueous, antigencontaining phase constituting less than 20% by volume of the vaccine and' an emulsifier in a quantity not less than half but at least 1/10th of the volume of the aqueous phase. The vaccine may be a clostridial vaccine e.g. Cl. tetani, Cl. perfringens, &c. or Br. abortus. The emulsifier may be a non-ionic surfactant and the oil may be a mineral oil.
