Abstract

Procedimiento de preparación de matrices vítreas con propiedades de cristales líquidos a temperatura ambiente. El procedimiento de preparación de películas delgadas de vidrio de espesor variable conteniendo microgotas de cristales líquidos como K-15 y MBBA o de mezclas comerciales como E-7, Phase 5, ZLI-3775, ZLI-1275, y Colesteril linoleato por medio del proceso solgel de una disolución de alcohol, compuestos órgano-silanos u órgano-alúminas y agua a temperatura ambiente. Las microgotas varían de 0,1 a 200 micras de diámetro según la naturaleza de los reactivos y el procedimiento utilizado para su preparación. Estos materiales, en forma de películas dan una respuesta sensible ópticamente a un campo eléctrico externo con tiempos de respuesta de subida (on) y relajación (off) variables y que están estrechamente ligados al tipo de precursor utilizado y a la relación estequiométrica de los componentes de la disolución. Las propiedades ópticas de estos materiales son también sensibles a la temperatura.Preparation procedure for glassy matrices with liquid crystal properties at room temperature. The microdroplets vary from 0.1 to 200 microns in diameter depending on the nature of the reagents and the procedure used for their preparation. These materials, in the form of films, give an optically sensitive response to an external electric field with variable rise (on) and relaxation (off) response times and which are closely linked to the type of precursor used and the stoichiometric ratio of the components of dissolution. The optical properties of these materials are also temperature sensitive.
